Bharathi Penneswaran is the Artistic Director and Co-Founder of Aalokam. A trained dancer, choreographer, and teacher based in New York City, she brings a bold and creative charge to the practice and performance of traditional Indian dance. Aalokam dance school and dance company are experiments of melding tradition with the complexities of contemporary society to create music, movement, themes, and stories.
